This week 27,000 Canadian Rotarians received the first issue of Rotary Canada.

It's with great pride that I present to you the first edition of Rotary Canada, a quarterly supplement of The Rotarian . For years, many Canadian Rotarians have suggested a regional magazine for our country, but you have also indicated you enjoy reading The Rotarian, valuing the content and finding it a resource. You are now getting the best of both worlds, receiving the flagship publication of our organization as well as a supplement aimed at the more than 27,000 Canadian Rotarians.

Many of you said you would like to receive a Canadian version of The Rotarian , but this proved not to be financially feasible. Our exploration led us instead to this companion to The Rotarian. We hope that, over time, our supplement will grow in pages and be published more frequently. You will decide if this happens.

Rotary Canada will also be about encouragement and discovery. Our goal is to provide stories about local Rotary activities, international projects sponsored by Canadian clubs, and articles that address community needs. We want to honour our past and celebrate our Rotary heroes. I hope that our publication will do serendipity especially well -- enabling you to turn a page and find something new. I hope that reading it will take you somewhere unexpected.

In addition, our new Web site in English and in French enhances the print supplement. You will find translations of articles, additional material, and -- in the future -- video and audio links to augment stories.

Many people have contributed to this publication, in particular Past RI Vice President Monty Audenart; Vince Aversano, editor in chief of The Rotarian ; and the members of the editorial advisory board. Thank you all. We look forward to hearing from our readers. This is your publication.
