Launch of Global Peace Centre Canada

Ziauddin Yousafzai, father of Nobel Peace Laureate Malala, front centre, at the launch of the Global Peace Centre Canada in Waterloo. Ziauddin is the honourary Chair. Local Rotarians have been closely involved in the establishment of this Centre and two, Ernie Ginsler and Lowell Ewert, sit on the founding board. The K-W Cluster has raised close to $150,000 for Rotary Peace Scholarships for students studying peace building at the University of Waterloo and Conrad Grebel University College. It is our long-term goal to see RI support a Rotary Peace Center in Waterloo. We now have a ready partner in place to coordinate with.
