Celebrating Black History Month

On February 6, 2023 Rotary Club of Brampton hosted members and guests to our annual Black History Month celebration, where three speakers gave awesome presentations on the theme of RESISTANCE and RESILIENCE.

District 7080 Governor Sandhya Maini (Guest Speaker), Warrant Officer Winslow Taylor (Highlight Speaker) and Donna Pascal (Keynote Speaker).

It was a colorful event, filled with great agenda items like a special Nigerian-style Canadian anthem by TOLAZEE, a special song by Peace Anyira-Okugo and an engaging comments session.

Being the club's first Black President, it was particularly memorable to me, as I shared a video https://youtu.be/zgVrlx68v-0 of Martin Luther King Jr, being one of the icons of Black resistance.

Thanks to Rita Gayle and her team for organizing this awesome event, like always, that gets better each year.
