A Series of Initiatives by the Rotary Club of Brampton

The rotary club of Brampton held a series of events in their commitment towards eradicating polio:

On OCT 22 , Brampton City Council hosted an End Polio Now flag raising ceremony, where Mayor Patrick Brown presented a World Polio Day Proclamation. In attendance was 7080 District Governor Rudy Habesch, members of Brampton City Council and 64 Rotarians and friends.

On OCT 23 , a Polio Information Booth was set up during the popular Farmer’s Market in Brampton. Information and stickers were given to those who dropped by and made cash donations.

OCT 24 , a Fellowship Luncheon was hosted  at the Blackstone Steakhouse (a Pakistani-owned restaurant), where we welcomed RI Vice President, Valarie Wafer, and 50 guests. A $1,000 cheque was presented by Stephanie Beaumier to Club Polio Chair Carole Berry, on behalf of the Beaumier Family Foundation.

OCT 24 saw the Brampton City Hall Clock Tower illuminated in polio purple at night – the colour of ink given to every child on their pinky finger, a confirmation of their polio-free life!
