The Coping Center was founded in 1990 by Glenn and Roslyn Crichton after the loss of their 5 year old daughter to Leukemia. Located in a century old estate nestled in 6 acres of beautiful gardens and mature trees, it offers a peaceful place for support and encouragement in the uniqueness of one’s grief journey.

After the induction of their newest member, the club discovered that she had a deep compassion for those struggling with grief. Herself, being supported by the Coping Centre in her time of need, she introduced the club to an organization with a fierce impact on the community.

The Coping Centre is a non-profit, charitable organization, with no charge for group participants. As organizations struggle to raise donations and keep their heads above water, the Rotary Club of Cambridge PH saw an opportunity to support The Coping Centre.  In return club members quickly realized that the Center could also support the club! With 6 acres of landscaping to be tended, it's the perfect place for club members to gather, enjoy a coffee and share fellowship while caring for the beautiful property. During gardening days members discovered that there was also an opportunity to partner and leverage each other’s causes and resources. This lead to a new initiative;  The Coping Centre and the Rotary Club of Cambridge PH are developing an online auction with net proceeds shared by both organizations.

Auction committee members have been busy working on setting up the foundations of the event and are off to a good start with some great and creative auction items. The event will take place just in time for the Christmas season.
