Rotary Youth Exchange Leaders Visit Camp Wanakita, Celebrating Global Citizenship and Youth Leadership
A spirited gathering at Camp Wanakita became the focal point of District 7080’s Rotary Youth Exchange program recently, highlighting the Rotary's commitment to fostering global understanding and developing young leaders. The visit brought together exchange students, program leaders, and dedicated volunteers for a day of learning, connection, and cultural exchange.
Rotary Youth Exchange remains one of Rotary’s most influential initiatives, offering students the chance to immerse themselves in new cultures while becoming ambassadors of goodwill. Clubs across the district continue to play a vital role in shaping these experiences—opening their homes, supporting students, and helping build lifelong international friendships that strengthen Rotary’s global network.
The event at Camp Wanakita underscored the transformative impact of the program. Students participated in training sessions designed to prepare them for their exchange journeys, while also bonding with peers who share a passion for global citizenship. The event’s success was made possible thanks to the commitment of volunteers and leaders who ensure the program remains both meaningful and memorable.
Special appreciation was extended to DGN Rob Galloway and Miles Ross, who visited the camp to meet with students and share their insights. Their presence added an inspiring dimension to the day, reinforcing the value of mentorship and community support within the Youth Exchange experience.
District leaders also praised the Youth Exchange Committee members who braved the cold to deliver high‑quality training and guidance. Their dedication continues to uphold the district’s reputation for offering a robust, supportive, and enriching exchange program.
