The mental health awareness program “Stepping Out” was held Oct 2nd with the Rotary Club of Fergus Elora serving as the host for Rotarian Mr. Neil Dunsmore amazing presentation.
Neil took us through his wonderful solo walking trip last fall from Fergus-Elora to Ottawa a trip of 531km. His journey was filled with many inspirational stories with a focus on creating awareness of the mental health issues within our community.
The event was a live presentation with over 150 people attending at the new Grandway conference facility in Elora. Our Rotary club had 18 members and their spouses participate (for 36) . Special thanks to DG Rudy and his wife Lina for attending and sending special greetings from district 7080 and VP Valerie Wafer.
The event has raised 30k to date---outstanding with all proceeds going to the Groves Hub for youth mental health in Fergus-Elora.
