August Message - District Governor Mike Lawrie
Hello Rotarians, Rotaractors and friends ....

We have now completed 2 months of the current Rotary year and our District is buzzing with activity in so many areas. Our continued response to the COVID Pandemic shows the resilience, innovation and energy of the clubs and clusters as we continue to reach out to our local communities as well as around the world.
Rotary International - President's Message
Dear Rotarians, Rotaractors, and friends,

Rotary youth exchange — one of the many programs for youths and young adults that we celebrate this month — was my path into true engagement in Rotary. My wife, Susanne, and I began hosting exchange students soon after I joined, and the experience helped me go from simply being a member of my Rotary club to being a true Rotarian. Now Rotary Youth Exchange is a family tradition, and a strong one: Over the past 24 years, we have hosted 43 students!

A Simple Idea, Very Well Executed
Let’s face it, a bottle drive isn’t exactly a new or exciting event. That didn’t stop the Oakville Trafalgar Club and clubs within their cluster from making it a true success. To date, over $9000 has been raised from community donations of returnable bottles and cans. At 20¢ a bottle and 10¢ a can, that’s a mountain of returns!
