... give thanks for our water
Spring is in the air!  The G-Team is back from its Governor's Retreat at Camp Wanakita (not David) ... all energized by discussions about the "big picture" and inspiration coming from our youth exchange committee and students (ask them about their "Oscar" performances).

Welcome to our ninth issue of the News & Views Bulletin.  It is "Water and Sanitation" month.   Wow are we lucky to live in Canada ... with our abundance of clean water and infrastructure.
World Water Day is March 22.  To make plans, check out WASRAG at  https://www.wasrag.org/

I am off to Honduras this month for our microfinance project  insight trip.  Thank you for all your support.  Committed funds are being received and the grant applications are being prepared. Thank you for improving the lives of others!

Quote for the Month ... “You miss 100 percent of the shots you never take.”  (Wayne Gretzky)

Have you been tapped?
As mentioned last month, our cluster captains have been making presentations and tapping on shoulders within their communities in hopes of raising a Million Dollars for our Rotary Foundation..  Many Rotarians and friends of Rotary can truly make a difference by making a major financial contribution ($10,000 or more) so that we can reach our campaign goal.  You can help.  Donations can be spread over 3 years, by adding a clause in your Will, or via an insurance policy.  Contact  Carolyn Ferguson, for more information at  Carolyn.Ferguson@rotary.org  ... and as a small token of appreciation, upon reaching our goal, a celebratory Million Dollar Gala event will be held to thank our major contributors.
RI President Barry is standing by  ...

... to live stream to our BIG FAB ROTARY DINNER.  Have you invited non Rotarians (minimum 4, maximum 8) over for a fantastic candlelight dinner event at your home on April 6, 2019.  Each non Rotarian guest should be asked to bring nothing except a donation of at least $30 for our "End Polio" campaign.  Have your cameras ready and post pictures from the evening online.  Again, a great opportunity for public image, to introduce guests to Rotary, Foundation, and Polio ... and have a lot of Rotary Day fun.  For information, please contact your club president or event chair Linda Breault at lindabreault@aceevents.ca
All you have to do is just put on another great dinner party ...

Leaders must identify and remove obstacles.  Is the structure of our club meetings an obstacle to involvement?  One thing is abundantly clear, what emerging generations want in physical meetings is for the environment to be fundamentally social, fundamentally conversational and fundamentally less formal.  Peak your interest?  Read the entire article at ...

We are looking forward to receiving eleven Mexicans in November."  Please contact Eva Quijano equijano08@gmail.com if you can support in any way.  (She would like to take them to a hockey game and is looking for sponsors.)

New at the BRAND CENTER ...
Our latest research tells us that too many prospective members or supporters do not fully understand Rotary. Nearly 60 percent of those surveyed said they were unaware that a Rotary club exists in their own community.

The People of Action campaign helps you bring Rotary’s story to life by showing Rotary members as the people of action.  Tell your story!
