Climate action isn’t a single step—it’s a collection of everyday choices that, together, can create meaningful impact.
At the center of this effort, Project Drawdown translates climate research into practical solutions by highlighting strategies grounded in science. Resources like the Drawdown Explorer make it easier for people everywhere to understand these solutions and put them into practice.
To celebrate Earth Day, Project Drawdown invites you to download a Climate Action BINGO card and start filling in the squares.
Each square suggests simple, actionable steps you can take at home, in your community, or beyond. You can tackle a few or challenge yourself to complete the entire card over the course of the month.
At the end of April, share your completed card on social media. Post a photo along with a brief reflection, tag @projectdrawdown, and you may be featured in a newsletter or on Project Drawdown's social channels.
No action is too small—when combined, they can lead to lasting change.
We are committed to supporting activities that strengthen the conservation and protection of natural resources, advance ecological sustainability, and foster harmony between communities and the environment. The D7080 Environment Committee encourages clubs to access resources, embrace local solutions, and spur innovation in an effort to address the causes of climate change and environmental degradation.
Our members and community allies can take action in these ways:
- Protecting and restoring land, coastal, marine, and freshwater resources
- Enhancing the capacity of communities to support natural resource management and conservation
- Supporting sustainable agriculture, fishing, and aquaculture practices
- Enhancing the capacity of communities to support natural resource management and conservation
- Addressing the cause of climate change by reducing the emission of greenhouse gases
- Strengthening ecosystems and communities affected by climate change
- Supporting education initiatives that promote behavior that protects the environment
- Advocating for sustainable consumption to build an economy that uses resources more efficiently
- Addressing environmental justice issues and public health concerns
The Rotary Foundation will play an important role in helping us succeed. In the past 5 years TRF has allocated $18.4 Million (US) to support environment-related projects. This number is sure to grow as clubs and club members embrace the Foundation's new policy that supports grants for sustainable environmental projects.
Rotary's role in protecting the environment will take familiar and unfamiliar paths. The role of the D7080 Environment Committee to encourage clubs and members to understand the steps we can take to address environmental issues, and where possible, help with project execution.
