Rotary 7080 District Governor, 2024-25
Sohail Naseer was our District Governor in 2024-25. Sohail joined Milton Rotary in 2010 and became President of the Club in 2012.
 
In 2014, he started his involvement in District activities and became Assistant Governor for the North Halton Cluster. In 2017, he became the Director of Finance for the District. Sohail has been involved in many club-level fundraising and community service projects, including Rotary Youth Exchange, Students Advisory and the Online Auction.

Sohail has been involved in the PanAm Games, including fundraising activities for the national velodrome facility constructed in Milton. He has also served as chair and member of the Community Advisory Board of Maplehurst Correctional Facility in Milton. Sohail has served as a member of the Committee of Adjustment for the Town of Milton. His dedication to service has been officially recognized through an Ontario Volunteer Award from the Government of Ontario.
 
During his year as Rotary District 7080 Governor, the District's noteworthy achievements included: 
 
  • Strong participation in District Community Grants, enabling clubs to launch meaningful service initiatives that directly benefit local communities and enhance the visibility of Rotary.
  • Development and approval of the Vulnerable Sector Policy, reinforcing our commitment to safe and inclusive service for all.
  • Endorsement and update of the Manual of Policies and Procedures (MoPPP), supporting strong and modern district governance.
  • Significant membership growth, reflecting our renewed energy and message of service that resonates across generations.
  • Chartering of new Rotary, Rotaract, and Interact clubs, showing Rotary’s continued relevance and reach.
  • The creation and rollout of a District Strategic Plan, aligning directly with the Rotary Action Plan and setting a clear course for sustainable growth, innovation, and community impact.
Professionally, Sohail is a licensed Civil Engineer. He is part of the Executive Board of the PEO (Professional Engineers Ontario), Oakville Chapter, and has served as Chair of that chapter.
