As a Rotarian Advisor, you are the bridge between Rotary and young leaders ages 12–18, helping them turn ideas into real impact in their schools and communities.

Why sponsor and advise an Interact club?
Interact gives students ages 12–18 the chance to make a real difference while having fun, carrying out at least two service projects each year: one that helps their school or community and one that promotes international understanding.

Your role as Rotary Advisor
The Advisor is the consistent adult connection for the club: a mentor, guide, and liaison between the Interactors, the school, and the sponsoring Rotary club.
Key responsibilities
- Attend Interact meetings regularly.
- Help students understand Rotary values.
- Guide the club in planning service projects.
- Support communication with the District Interact team.
Support students effectively
- Coach, don’t control: let students lead.
- Encourage diverse leadership and rotating roles.
- Connect them with Rotary speakers and partners.
- Celebrate wins publicly at Rotary meetings.
1‑2‑3: Start or strengthen an Interact club
Step 1: Find partners
Appoint a Rotary Advisor, identify a Teacher Advisor at the school, and gather interested students.
Step 2: Build the club
Recruit at least 15 members, adopt the constitution, and elect a student executive team.
Step 3: Charter & launch
Submit paperwork to RI, hold an induction ceremony, and launch your first service project.
