Welcome to Rotary International District 7080

Rotary is a non-religious, non-political organization comprised of over 30 thousand service clubs and 1 million member-volunteers throughout the world. We are committed to making a lasting change though humanitarian projects that help people and build stronger communities.

This website is primarily a resource for Rotarians and Rotaractors within District 7080.  That said, there is also plenty of information for people looking to learn more about our organization.  Review the stories below to see what we've been up to lately, or go to www.rotary.org to learn more about Rotary International.

January Message - RI President Holger Knaack
January is finally here. As we look forward to 2021, our thinking doesn’t have to stop at the end of these 365 days. Are you thinking ahead about what you will be doing in 2022, 2023, and beyond?

We cannot foresee the future, but we can steer ourselves where we want to go. I think it is important that every Rotary club hold a strategic meeting at least once a year. Past RI Director Greg Yank, who has a lot of experience working with clubs on their plans, shares his viewpoint....

January Message - District Governor Mike Lawrie
Hello and welcome to 2021: We have passed the half -way mark in this Rotary year. It is with humble pride that we can look back on 2020 and reflect on how far we have come. The year that was themed “Rotary Opens Opportunity” has encouraged us not to count barriers, obstacles and restrictions but to reframe them as challenges that encouraged us to respond. We had the opportunity to choose a course of action that we hadn’t planned on. RI President, Holger Knaack, had encouraged us to be revolutionary and not be confined by our past habits. The Pandemic, I believe, will represent a milestone year for us and we will hereafter refer to BC and AC – before Covid and after Covid.

Bringing Santa to the People!
Submitted by Sandra Lawson

The Ingersoll Rotary Club wanted to share our Club's Christmas Celebration during this difficult year. This Christmas the club brought Santa to the People after having to cancel their traditional Santa Claus Parade. This small parade covered 85 km of the Town over five nights and had over 3000 people track our GPS location.

Council on Resolutions: 2020 Results
The Council on Resolutions meets online each year. Representatives from all of Rotary’s districts vote on resolutions proposed by clubs, districts, the RI Board of Directors, and the General Council or Conference of RIBI, as well as urgent enactments proposed by the RI Board.

The RI Board will consider all resolutions that the Council adopts. Adopted urgent enactments amend Rotary’s constitutional documents.

Sweat for a Cause

Submitted by Halton Rotaract

During a time where many of us are working from home and feeling alone, it is important we stay centered and healthy. One of the ways to do this is through physical activity. Did you know that just 30-60 minutes of daily exercise can help you stay healthy?

Cookie Dough Drop Fundraiser
Submitted by Alysha Palmer

During the holiday season, the Rotaract Club of Mississauga had the opportunity to partake in a Cookie Dough Fundraiser with local organization, Terra Cotta Cookie Co., based in Georgetown, Ontario. Over a two-week span beginning November 16th, our members reached out to friends, family, coworkers, and Rotarians to pre-purchase frozen cookie dough drops, where our club would receive $5 from every box sold in support of the Ukerewe Island Well Installation Project.

Cluster Power

The FOUR Rotary clubs in Oakville formed an alliance or cluster to address the COVID-19 pandemic. Credit goes to the Assistant Governor, Bent Fink-Jensen and Community Service Director of D7080, Norma Gamble for jumping into gear as soon as it was made public that we had a challenge ahead of us.

2019-2020 Awards and Citations
As Rotarians, we belong to Rotary for the satisfaction of knowing that we are contributing in our own way to make our community and our world a better place. Service above Self. However as District, it is important to recognize and celebrate the many significant contributions that are quietly and selflessly being made by dedicated Rotarians and Rotary Partners, and to recognize clubs which strive to build their membership and strengthen the communities they are part of. The District 7080 Awards are one way of recognizing those contributions and accomplishments.
